Seeing the holidays are coming up I thought I'd share my tips on the perfect red lips.  The red lip look is classic but there are a lot of ways to keep it relevant and fresh, perfect for those holiday parties.  A lot of celebrities are flaunting this look on the red carpet as well as an everyday look.  

Drew Barrymore shows how a blonde can pull of this look.  For Blonds I tend to use either blue-reds to a standard neutral red.  The key to a great red lip is to start with a red lip pencil.  Get your lip shape defined first and fill in the lip with the pencil.  My favorite red pencil is actually a Maybelline shade called Red 80.  Its the perfect red and lasts all day long.  I like to then add the lipstick, powder the lip with a translucent powder and reapply the lipstick.  This will prevent bleeding and keep the color rich.

Kim Kardashian shows you how dramatic a red lip can be from your usual natural color.  Brunettes can pull of this look using a warm red to neutral true red.  Another tip I like to use is after the lip is done I go around the edges with a little concealer.  One of my favorite products is Makeup Forever's concealer pencil.  It has an ivory and beige shade which allows you to really clean up the lip line.

To keep this look updated apply a clear gloss on top and keep your eyeshadow and blush natural.
