Tips and Tricks: Brooke Shields and Latisse

I've seen the Brooke Shields commercials for Latisse on TV and I've wondered if it really works.  I've seen a lot of lash extending products on the market for years and none have really panned out.  Recently though I worked with a model who has been using Latisse for 4 months now.  To begin with her lashes were a pretty decent length but we often apply false lashes on her for shoots to get a fuller look.  I'm a huge fan of falsies and love a full set of individual lashes.  I apply individuals a lot for bridal work or for natural beauty shoots with stunning results.

When I saw this model at the beginning of our day I was floored.  Not only were her lashes longer, they were just soo thick and gorgeous.  Each lash look plumped and really flirty.  It has changed her look for the better and I didn't have to do much besides one coat of mascara, to finish her lash look that day.  I've heard a lot of rumors of side effects but she hasn't had any yet.  I think this depends on the individual and something you should discuss with your doctor before starting this treatment.  The one thing I've heard is you must be patient as this product takes months to start workin.  It's also an expensive product in the range of $150/month to upkeep.  Once you stop using it your lashes go back to their natural length and thickness so keep that in mind.  Beyond the price and possible side effects, I think this is a great mini makeover option that can transform your look without much effort.
